These ginuntings were designed by one of the foremost and well-known instructors in the Pekiti-Tirsia system for his students' own use. These are excellent quality swords that were designed and built for combat from the ground up. I have sold over a dozen of these swords and they are always popular items here at Pinoy Steel.

This ginunting measures in at 24 5/8" overall. The handle is solid kamagong (Philippines ebony) and is 5 7/8" long. It swells toward the end, as is traditional, and feels great in hand. There is a brass keeper to keep the handle locked on tight. The bolster and guard are solid aluminum, and contribute 3/4" to the length of the sword.

The blade is 18" long and hollowground. It is forged with a distal taper. The swedge is sharp, but not razor sharp (although it wouldn't take long to get there). The primary edge is razor sharp.

The balance point is 3 1/4" in front of the guard. The blade is 1.25" wide at its widest point.

The mulawin hardwood scabbard features a belt loop with a snap to hold the sword's handle in place.

The handle is comfortably sized, even for my large hands.

This sword weighs in at 21.2 oz. The scabbard adds 7.1 oz to that, for a total weight of 28.3 oz. $229.
