This beautiful karambit is double edged and built to last with full-tang construction. It measures in at 7 13/16″ from tip to the end of the ring. The blade is hand forged carbon spring steel with good temper, so it is tough and will hold an edge well. These karambits are built larger and heavier than the Javanese kind they are often based on.

The handle slabs are Luzon kamagong heartwood (Philippines ebony), which is now illegal to harvest in the wild. Existing stocks of this wood are drying up and I don’t think kamagong will be seen on knife handles in a few years.

The sheath is mulawin, a beautiful Filipino hardwood. The clip is thick, folded aluminum and riveted on. There are a few scratches on the clip from storage in the Philippines, but it would be a five minute job with sandpaper to get it looking perfect again.

The handle slabs on this karambit are slimmer than usual for karambits from this forge. The handle feels amazing in hand and the slimmer construction makes it more easily concealable under clothing.

Both aluminum pins and epoxy are used in the construction of the handle, which will keep the scales where they should be.

The handle measures in at 4 9/16″, which allows for a secure grip with or without your index or pinky finger inserted in the ring. To me, this is a huge advantage.

The finger grooves are comfortable in a multitude of grips.

There is some natural porosity in the wood on this side of the karambit.

image

The blade is 3 9/16″ long along the bottom, when measured in a straight line.

The sheath fits well and holds the karambit securely, while still allowing for a smooth draw.

This karambit weighs in at 4.9 oz, or 6.7 oz with the sheath.

This is a great karambit, and excellent value at $105.
